SC Prisons Officer Arrested For Assaulting Inmate In Handcuffs, Leg Restraints

Captain Travis Laquinton Reese was arrested for assault, assault and battery 3rd degree and misconduct in office.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A South Carolina prisons officer was arrested for assault and battery according to the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

Captain Travis Laquinton Reese was arrested for assault, assault and battery 3rd degree and misconduct in office. He worked at the Broad River Correctional Institution.

According to the arrest warrant, Reese pushed an inmate in leg restraints and with hands cuffed behind his back to the ground.

Investigators say there is recorded video footage of the assault.

He also, according to the arrest warrants, did not report the use of force incident and falsified documents pertaining to the incident.

Reese was booked at the Richland County Detention Center.
