Shots fired into car near Hanes Mall Boulevard in Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem police said the caller told them that a car was following them and eventually shot into their car as they approached an intersection.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police received calls about a shooting in the area of McDonald's at Hanes Mall Boulevard late Wednesday night. 

Once officers arrived at the scene around just before 11 p.m., they didn't find any evidence of a shooting in the area. 

A short time later, officers were investigating the call they received. They said someone called and stated that his car had been shot at the intersection of Hanes Mall Boulevard and Silas Creek Parkway. 

The caller said the car was following them as he traveled south on Silas Creek Parkway and once he approached the intersection, the other car fired several gunshots into his car as he was making a right turn into Hanes Mall Boulevard. 

The victim was not injured in this incident.
