What We Know About Chris Collins: Suspect In Deadly Greensboro Fire

Collins' address is listed in Youngsville, NC, which is in Franklin County. It's not clear what ties the suspect has to the two found dead or Greensboro.

GREENSBORO, North Carolina — Greensboro Police say there's been an arrest made in a double homicide, arson case after an apartment fire Wednesday night.

18-year-old Chris Adrean Collins is charged with one count of Felony Kidnapping, one count of Felony Murder and one count of First Degree Arson.

Greensboro Police say they found two male bodies in a burned apartment at 703 Summit Avenue.  The fire broke out Wednesday night.  After investigating, the Greensboro Fire Department ruled it was intentionally set.

Police have not released the names of the victims at this point in time.

Court documents indicate that Collins kidnapped one victim and "terrorized" and caused "serious bodily injury" to that victim.  Documents say Collins murdered that victim and that the victim was inside the apartment at the time of the burning.

The documents also say Collins did "maliciously burn" the apartment.  They list the name of a person who inhabited the apartment, but it's not clear if that person was involved in this case.  Documents do not clearly indicate who the second victim is.

Collins' address is listed in Youngsville, NC, which is in Franklin County. It's not clear what ties the suspect has to the victims or Greensboro.  A check through North Carolina courts show no past record for this suspect. 

Collins is being held in Guilford County Jail with no bond.  He's due back in court February 21st.
