BURLINGTON, N.C. — A lucky ticket was purchased at a Burlington convenience store for Friday's Mega Millions drawing won a $2 million prize.
The lucky winner bought the $3 Megaplier ticket at Philomena Inc. on Church Street in Burlington.
All of the numbers matched the five white balls to win $1 million. Because the ticket was a Megaplier ticket, the prize doubled to $2 million.
The $2 million prize ranked as the largest won nationally in Friday's drawing. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 12.6 million.
