'Special Air Mission 41' Flies Over College Station, Texas To Honor George H.W. Bush

The 89th Airlift Wing will conduct a tribute flight in honor of former President George H.W. Bush over his presidential library Wednesday.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The "Special Airlift Mission 41" flew the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library in College Station Wednesday afternoon.

The plane passed through College Station at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The Boeing 747 plane is one of two VC-25As assigned to the Presidential Airlift Group, 89th Airlift Wing. When the President is onboard the plane, it is commonly referred to as “Air Force One.” For the State Funeral, the aircraft call sign is “Special Airlift Mission 41” in honor of the former President.

Those at Texas A&M University viewed the flyover from the Reed Arena parking lot on campus.
