BUGGING OUT: Suspect Surrenders Because He Couldn't Stand The Mosquitoes

"When we handcuffed him, he asked us to wipe his forehead because he had 15 to 20 mosquitoes on his forehead."

CAMPBELLSPORT, Wis. – Credit the mosquitoes with helping cops nab a suspect in Wisconsin.

Police say John Wilson was the getaway driver when his buddy stole hundreds of dollars worth of alcohol from a Piggly Wiggly.

Police tried to pull the car over but Wilson took off, leading them on a high-speed chase.

At one point, Wilson bailed out of the car and ran away on foot.

Roughly an hour later, the itchy suspect surrendered because he couldn’t stand another minute of the swarming mosquitoes.

"When we handcuffed him, he asked us to wipe his forehead because he had 15 to 20 mosquitoes on his forehead at that time," said Campbellsport Police Chief Thomas Dornbrook.

Dornbrook said the mosquitoes were awful but he was happy to have their help.

"As soon as the sheriff’s department arrived, that’s the first thing I asked for, if he could give me some spray because it was crazy," said Donbrook told WDJT in Milwaukee.

Police (and mosquitoes?) are still looking for Wilson’s partner in crime.
