2013 Masters Champion Adam Scott Joins Wyndham

GREENSBORO, N.C.  --  Adam Scott, currently No. 11 in the Official World Golf Rankings, will play the Piedmont Triad's PGA TOUR event, the tournament announced today.  The 76th annual Wyndham Championship starts Monday at Sedgefield Country Club. 

Scott joins World Golf Hall of Famer Ernie Els, reigning FedExCup champion Billy Horschel, 2007 champion Brandt Snedeker, 2011 champion Webb Simpson, 2011 FedExCup champion Bill Haas, Hideki Matsuyama, Major winners Martin Kaymer, Charl Schwartzel, Jason Dufner, Retief Goosen, Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard and Vijay Singh, Paul Casey, former world No. 1 Luke Donald, 2009 champion Ryan Moore, Harris English, reigning champion Camilo Villegas, two-time champion Davis Love III, 2008 winner Carl Pettersson, Brooks Koepka, 2005 champion K.J. Choi and 2010 winner Arjun Atwal in the field. "Young Guns" Justin Thomas, Ollie Schniederjans, Daniel Berger, Chesson Hadley, Patrick Rodgers and Cameron Smith are also in the field.

Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters Tournament after he birdied the second playoff hole to defeat Angel Cabrera in 2013. A former No. 1 golfer in the world, Scott has 11 PGA TOUR victories and 13 international wins to his credit.  Scott has some excellent finishes this season finishing tied for fourth at the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship and the U.S. Open Championship and tied for 10th at the Open Championship.  Scott will make his third Wyndham Championship appearance and his first since 2009.  He is 90th in the FedExCup point standings.
