Duke, NC State fans ready for Sweet 16 games

All eyes are on Duke and NC State tonight—both teams fighting for a spot in the Elite 8.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The anticipation has built for a week along Tobacco Road and the excitement is through the roof for Duke and NC State.

All eyes are on Duke and NC State tonight—both teams fighting for a spot in the Elite 8.

Fans of both teams are hoping for a longer run than the Carolina Tarheels.

Let's start with the Wolfpack.

They head into their Sweet 16 matchup tonight on a winning streak.

People on NC State's campus today are rocking their red and showing support for the pack.

"It's been a dream... 37 years. I can't imagine something like this happening growing up being a Wolfpack fan and always being loyal to the situation. I've been a huge fan of Kevin Keatts, and I think he's been in the right direction so it's good to see him finally getting everything he deserves," said Matt Busch, an NC State fan

On the other side of the triangle is Duke.

Fans say they had a tough tournament run last year when they were out after the second round.

One fan says Duke can go all the way if they focus on shooting and their toughness.

"I think they are limited defensively and I mean a question their toughness going into the tournaments so ultimately, I picked UCONN to win. I just think they've been the most consistent team all year back to backs are pretty rare, but I think the way Duke is playing especially if they continue shooting well and if they can rebound they've got a shot," said Daniel O'Connell, a Duke fan.

Even though UNC lost—there is at least one ACC- team heading to the elite 8.

Clemson will play Alabama this Saturday.
