CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fans have mixed emotions about the Panthers’ shakeup.
This major change comes with just six games left in the season.
Following the announcement that the Carolina Panthers were parting ways with Head Coach Frank Reich, fans across the state voiced their opinions.
Some superfans were surprised, saying this all came too soon.
“He came in and wanted to win an organization,” Alan Beasley said, "It was too early, sports just doesn't work that way. You have to give people time to develop."
However, some super fans said the timing made sense.
"It should've come earlier than now,” Alain Brown Aka Mad Cattah said. "Some say they could' have given him the rest of the season. But we are already eleven games in. "
WFMY News 2 asked the fans who they wanted to see as their next head coach, and both recommended former interim head coach Steve Wilks.
“Bring Wilks back, we want Wilks,” Beasley said.
“If you hear me know I speak on behalf of all Panther fans come back Steve Wilks he's a solid native he's from this area,” Brown said.
In addition to Reich, the team also fired their assistant head coach and running back coach. The team plans to hold a press conference Tuesday to address these changes.
