COLUMBIA, S.C. — Even though thousands of scientists advocate for standard time, legislators continue to push to make Daylight Saving Time permanent.
As of September, South Carolina and eight other states are contemplating legislation to discontinue Daylight Saving Time. This prospective change aimed to transition the state into year-round standard time, as reported by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).
