Fireworks Could Go Off With A Fizzle! Storms Possible on 4TH of July

You may have to dodge raindrops Thursday!

After a mainly dry start to the week with only isolated showers and storms, the chance of rain will increase just in time for the 4th of July.

The morning hours should remain dry, before showers and storms pop up as we head into the afternoon. The activity will be generally scattered in nature. Here's a look at one of our forecast models for Thursday afternoon shortly before 4pm.

We're hoping to see you at the Fun Fourth Festival in Greensboro. If you head out there, be sure to have rain gear handy in case a shower or storm pops up over downtown during the event.

At this point, it appears as though the best time frame for rain Thursday will be from around lunchtime through 9pm or so.

Stay tuned, because we will continue to refine the forecast for the 4th as we near Thursday afternoon. The weather will remain fairly unsettled as we go through the rest of the week into the weekend.
