More sun & warmth Monday, storm chance late Tuesday

Getting warm and toasty through this week with a few storm chances

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Low 59.

Monday: Mostly Sunny. Warmer. High 82.

Tuesday: Partly Cloudy. Afternoon Thunderstorm Possible. High 81.

Wednesday: Partly Sunny. High 83.

Thursday: Partly Sunny. High 84.

WEATHER SUMMARY:

As surface high pressure slides south from New England, surface winds over our area have turned to the southwest. This has shut off the marine moisture influence. This means more sunshine and warmer temperatures. Tonight's skies will be partly cloudy with a low near 59. Monday will be mostly sunny with a high of 82.

The very warm temperatures will continue for the rest of the week. By Tuesday, a dying cold front, and weak upper-level disturbance will approach. This combined with afternoon heating will produce a 30% isolated shower or storm chance in the afternoon. The high on Tuesday will be 81. While Wednesday and Thursday will be generally dry, afternoon heating could produce a stray storm. They will be isolated at best. Highs on both days will be in the low-to-mid 80s. The low Monday morning will be 59, and around 60 through Friday morning.

As moisture increases, there will be a slight chance of isolated P.M. storms on Friday with a slightly better storm chance Saturday afternoon. High temperatures Friday and Saturday will be in the lower 80's.

The normal low is 52, and the normal high is 74.
