GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's the unofficial beginning of summer and travel season. It's the time to shake cabin fever and get outdoors! You may have plans to go to a lake or pool to cool off, or maybe fire up the grill this Memorial Day. While you're doing so, make sure you have a plan to head indoors: severe weather is possible again tonight.

Here is the Severe Weather Outlook for Memorial Day. For our area, there is a risk of strong to severe storms mainly after 3 pm and into the evening hours. Damaging winds and hail will be possible with any severe storms that develop. An isolated tornado is also not out of the question.

Stay weather aware. Make sure everyone in your group has a way to receive severe weather alerts! We'll keep you posted on air and online.

A cold front will cross the area late Monday with much quieter weather on the way for the rest of the week. Cooler, drier air will not arrive until Tuesday and Wednesday.
