ASHEBORO, N.C. — UPDATE: A suspect has been arrested in this case.
A 16-year-old is in the hospital after he was shot by another teen in Asheboro.
Asheboro police said a teen was inside a car when another 16-year-old boy shot him in the jaw from outside the car Friday night in North Asheboro Park around 9:30 p.m.
The teen who was shot was taken to the hospital.
Officers said a secure custody order has been obtained and they are searching for the suspect.
