Rockingham County illegal gambling café shut down, owner arrested, deputies say

The Lucky Duck Internet Café was also raided in 2016 for similar offenses.

MADISON, N.C. — A Rockingham County gambling operation was found to be operating illegally on Thursday, March 14, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.

Rockingham County deputies and the North Carolina Alcohol Enforcement (ALE), executed a search warrant at the Lucky Duck Internet Café, located at 3998 US Highway 220, Madison, N.C.

During the search, authorities seized several video gaming electronics, hard drives, video surveillance equipment, and an undisclosed amount of cash from the premises. 

The owner of the business, Brandon Tyler Pettitt, 38, has been charged with multiple offenses, including Felony Operating More Than Five Video Gaming Machines, three counts of Misdemeanor Gambling, Misdemeanor Operating/Possessing Slot Machines, Misdemeanor Manufacture/Sell Slot Machines, and Misdemeanor Possessing Prohibited Electronic Sweepstakes Devices.

The business has been shut down at the time of reporting.

The same establishment was raided in 2016 for 192 illegal sweepstakes video gaming machines and more than $27,000 in cash.
