Kidnapped High Point teen left with a fractured spine after ex-boyfriend took her from her home, police say

She shared details about her relationship and said they have a history of domestic violence.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — We are hearing new details after a teen was kidnapped from her home in High Point on Monday.

Her parents gave WFMY News 2 permission to interview her but asked we not show her face for privacy reasons.

The High Point Police Department responded to a call on Worth Street where 18-year-old Francisco Arevalo allegedly entered a home and threatened everyone with a knife. 17-year-old Alondra Flores said she knew the suspect for a year and a half and they dated at one point. Flores said they have a 4-month-old child together.

"He pulled me out of the house, and my siblings tried to stop him. He pulled out a knife on them," she said.

WFMY News 2 obtained the 911 call from the night of the attack.

"He was dragging her by the neck and he just dragged her outside," the caller said.

Flores said her body could not handle the stress.

"Out of the scariness and nervousness, I passed out. I went unconscious and just gained it back in his car," Flores said.

She said she was attempting to get out of what she described as a toxic relationship.

"I have suffered domestic violence with him before, but it was really unexpected that night that he came into my house like that," Flores shared, "To be honest, I think it's because I just didn't want anything to do with him anymore and I guess he didn't expect that."

Police said the chase ended in Virginia where Arevalo's car was spotted on the interstate with Flores inside. At that moment, she said she feared for her life.

"In the car, I couldn't move at all or even speak. But later on, when I was already in the hospital getting IVs, I was able to move my legs. They told me I had fractured my upper spine.

Police charged Arevalo with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, and assault with a deadly weapon among other charges. He also faces additional charges in Virginia.

Flores warned that any sign of domestic violence is a red flag.

"If you see those kinds of signs, then just run the first time it happens. Leave the relationship before it gets worse," she said.

Flores said she's thankful she can walk and is looking forward to holding her baby again. She said her doctors told her she would have to wear a back brace for about two more weeks.
