MOCKSVILLE, N.C. — A restaurant owner was arrested for allegedly hiding a camera in the women's restroom of his restaurant La Vita E Bella, according to the Davie County Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, Luigi Carciati, 47, was arrested on 20 counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor, deputies say.

Deputies said they received multiple tips related to Carciati through the State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

After searching Carciati's home, deputies said they seized four digital devices related to the tips.

The content found on the devices led them to the La Vita E Bella restaurant, where deputies said they found a hidden camera in the women's restroom.

Deputies said they are working to identify the women who may have been recorded in the restroom. Deputies also mentioned there are juveniles involved in the investigation.

Carciati is currently being held at the Davie County Detention Center with a $500,000 secured bond.
