1 dead after shooting on Denny Road in Greensboro, police say

Kathryn Garton Holmes, 67, was found with a gunshot wound.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — One person is dead after a shooting in Greensboro on Friday, May 24, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

At around 11:15 a.m., police were called to the 500 block of Denny Road for a reported car accident.

When they got to the scene, Kathryn Garton Holmes, 67, was found with a gunshot wound.

According to police, Holmes got into an accident as a result of the shooting. No one else was involved in the accident.

Police said Holmes was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She died from her injuries on Sunday.

The investigation is ongoing.
