Teen charged after shooting inside High Point Food Lion, police say

HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point police arrested a 17-year-old for shooting inside a Food Lion Wednesday. 

The High Point Police Department said it happened around 3:30 p.m. on Westchester Drive. 

Investigators said one shot was fired inside the store and no one was hit. 

Officers charged the teen with possession of a stolen firearm, discharging a firearm within a structure and possession of a firearm by a minor. 

The teen was taken to the Guilford County Juvenile Detention Center on a secure custody order. 

The quick response by dozens of officers results in securing the scene, determining what happened and making an arrest, all in less than one hour.
