Deputies charged two women with trespassing onto the Southeastern Randolph Middle School bus.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Randolph County deputies arrested two women accused of assaulting and threatening a female student on a Southeastern Randolph Middle School bus.

RCSO said it received a call for service for a possible fight on a school bus Tuesday.

Investigators said three adults got onto the school bus while at a bus stop, and at least one of the adults assaulted and threatened a female student on the bus.

Misdemeanor charges were obtained for two of the adults and charges are pending for the third one.

Octavia McRae, 36, and Shenequa Watkins, 42, were both charged with misdemeanor trespass/impeding a school bus, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct on a school bus. McRae was also charged with misdemeanor simple assault, according to deputies.

Both women were arrested and taken to the Randolph County Detention Center where they were served their warrant. They were both given a $2,500 bond and they are set to appear in court Thursday.

The Randolph County School System sent the following statement regarding the bus incident:

"The Randolph County School System is aware of the situation involving a bus from Southeastern Randolph Middle School on 2/6/24. At this time, the administration at Southeastern Randolph Middle School is working with the leadership of the school system and law enforcement to address the situation appropriately."
