GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A person is dead, and a man is in critical condition after a rollover crash on I-40W near NC-68 Monday, according to Greensboro police.
The Greensboro Police Department (GPD) said that around 10:14 a.m., they had been called to the scene of a crash on I-40W near NC-68. After an investigation, they learned that a red 1998 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on I-40 before the driver veered to the right and crashed into a white 2022 Toyota Tacoma.
Police said the Ford rolled over several times.
Investigators said the driver of the Ford 47-year-old Crystal Galvan, of Liberty, died at the scene. The passenger, Lee Forbes, Jr., 70, of Liberty, was flown to Wake Forest Baptist to be treated for life-threatening injuries, where he remains in critical condition, according to GPD.
The driver of the Toyota received minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.
This investigation is ongoing.
