2 lucky NC residents bring home millions after Tuesday's drawing

Two people in North Carolina are now millionaires after Tuesday's drawing.

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Two people in North Carolina woke up millionaires after Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing.

The NC Education Lottery said a person purchased the $3 Megaplier ticket in Kernersville using Online Play and won $4 million.

Another person bought a $2 ticket at the Enmark Station on Tunnel Road in Asheville and won a $1 million.

Both tickets matched all five white balls to win a $1 million prize. The prize for the $3 Megaplier ticket quadrupled to $4 million when the 4X Megaplier hit.

They weren't the only ones who won big, three others in California and Florida also matched all five white balls in the drawing.

The person in NC who won $4 million also took home the largest prize nationally in the drawing.

Since no won won Tuesday's jackpot, the new jackpot for Friday's drawing is now $228 million.
