THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A man pleaded guilty to death by distribution after another man died by overdose in Thomasville.

Thomasville police said they responded to the 300 block of James Avenue and found Jacob Fields, 35, dead in May 2021 .

Officers said the autopsy report showed Fields died from a fentanyl overdose.

Detectives investigated and identified Larento Valentino Grady Jr., 30, of High Point as the supplier of the fentanyl to Fields.

Thomasville police and High Point officers located and arrested Grady without incident in June 2022.

Grady was then indicted by a Davidson County Grand Jury on one count of second-degree murder and one count of death by distribution in July 2022.

Wednesday Grady pleaded guilty to death by distribution.

He was sentenced to 8 to 11 years in prison.
