Teen Exposes Human Trafficking Case in Davidson Co.; Suspect's Bond $5M

A teen reportedly told authorities that on several occasions she was taken to Lexington, given illegal drugs and had sexual encounters with a man.

LEXINGTON, N.C.-- A 13-year-old girl is safe after telling authorities in Davidson County she was given illegal drugs and driven, at different times, to a location to have sex with a man.

The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office started their investigation, on August 15, after being contacted by Dragonfly House Child Advocacy Center. A teen there reportedly told adults that on several occasions she was taken to Lexington, given illegal drugs and had sexual encounters with Angel Andaverde.

During their investigations, detectives obtained warrants for Angel Andaverde for Stautory Rape, Statutory Sex Offense, Human Trafficking, Indecent Liberties with a Child and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING | Need Help or Answers

Andarverde was arrested Thursday and placed in the Davidson County Jail under $5,000,000.00 secured bond.

Detectives are still investigation the case.
