Lanes Reopen on Highway 52 North After Tractor-Trailer Crash in Winston-Salem

According to the Winston Police Department, both directions of U.S. Highway 52 are now back open.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Update: According to the Winston Police Department, both directions of U.S. Highway 52 are now back open as of 3:35 p.m. 

Police and fire in Winston-Salem closed the lanes on Highway 52 north after a crash involving a tractor-trailer. The crash happened around 12:20 p.m. Sunday on U. S. Highway 52 near University Parkway.

Both lanes of U. S. Highway 52 northbound are blocked and one lane of U. S. Highway 52 southbound is blocked, according to police.

This is the second crash in Winston-Salem involving a tractor-trailer. Early this morning one person was killed in an accident involving a big rig on  I-40 West under the bridge at E. Clemmonsville Rd.
